Just saw this under the car.
Speedo cable is leaking trans oil, the oil is leaking out where the metal is crimped around the cable.

Should there be oil reaching the speedo cable?

A bit stumped as the cable is brand new, the inner seal in the speedo gear housing is brand new (Installed with the lips inwards.).
Just installed everything and filled up with oil.

The inner seal is leaking. Should never get to the cable. If you remove the cable it would leak on the ground.

There is a metal ring to retain the seal.

This one has a clear photo, but there are cheaper ones available.

Chances are the inner seal wasn't properly installed, it needs to be driven FIRMLY down into the shaft bore. It will act like it can't go in that far, but it will. I use the butt end of the appropriately-sized 1/4" drive deep socket as an install tool. The gear's shaft should kind of 'pop' through it without dislodging it.
(A little hint = you can use a seal for a GM TH400 trans, as they're the same...The Chrysler seal is obviously more expensive and harder to find:BangHead:)

Thanks, this is it.
I remember not driving it down all the way as it looked squished.

So I guess I need to remove some oil then as I have to remove the gear housing to get to the seal again.

You shouldn't need to remove any fluid (I never do) just jack the rear up a little more than the front.
