I bought new Mopar Performance rear springs for my '66 Coronet back in 2007. I had thought "yeah, I'll put these on this Spring" every year since. Without a lift in my shop, it's such a PITA to do that kind of work for me, with only a floor jack and jack stands at hand. Yesterday, I took it to the local vo-tech auto shop, since my son is in that class. The instructor is a great friend I've known since 1982, and he has two '67 Plymouths - a Belvedere II that he's owned since 1980, and a 440 4-speed '67 GTX that he has owned nearly as long. Drove the car down there on the original, and very lifeless, rear springs; with the new springs and bushings in the trunk. Picked it up today, and the car drives soooo much better! Before, the springs were so tired that my exhaust would rub on the shocks, since the rear sat so low. With more than two people in the car, it rubbed all the time! Now, the car is easily two inches higher out back, and far better to drive and enjoy.
I shoulda' done this back in '07!
