I picked up a 68 satellite (gtx cloned) was sitting in a field. basically, a project car that's traded hands twice before I got it. that was 5 months ago it's come a long way and getting close to being back on the road. I will be looking for advice and parts.

Thanks Dana

I know patina is not everyone's thing but I like it and I'm not buying all the shiny stuff.

Nice '68. You saved another one from a field. I will say that the patina job had me fooled. I had to look back through the pictures to see if it was real. What are you doing for drive train?

And some more, doing 440 a833 4speed. Thanks on the patina it was my first time painting something to look like ****.

It looks tough! Make it fast and dependable, and have fun scaring all those bow ties and blue ovals!!

So "Dana", gotta ask...What's it got in it for a rear end?

That's a nice looking project and great job at intentionally making it look like...well...ya know.

Greetings and welcome aboard from NY! Love that '68!

Welcome to the site!! All I have to do to mine to keep the 'sheet' looking that way is to clear coat it! And I used to have a 68 road runner coupe that was wearing GTX trim and no one ever asked about that lol. But that was back in the mid 80's and not that many cared or even knew that no coupes were built as GTX's I guess.

It has an 8 3/4, I do have a dana 60 for it that I will be building.

for the "name" my first name is Dana I've been a 4x4 guy my whole life and built a lot of them and Dana 44 is a nick name I picked up years ago.

I did do a coat of matte clear.

"that no coupes were built as GTX's'' really? I don't mean to be skeptical but, a 68 GTX was not offered in a coupe?

Nope! The GTX was a high end car and the coupe wasn't. It was considered the low end actually and the GTX was only offered as a hardtop.

Welcome from Illinois Dana!! Has that intimidating, ready-to-pounce look about it and the 4-speed is icing on the cake!
