Hi
I'm new tp B Body forums but i've owned my mopar since 1986.
Its a 66 Charger, silver metallic exterior with a metallic red interior. It's originally from California so there isn't any rust. I did the restoration from 1986 t0 1990 and it still looks great.
it is a 383-4bbl car with a 727 console shift it has factory A/C which I restorted last year and it works great.
My plans for this year is to change it to a 4 speed and install new carpets. Next year I will install power windows.
Looking forward to attending the 50th reunion at the W.P. Chrysler Museum next year.

Welcome John,

I just had to look to see where North Gower was! Do you already have the tranny and everything else needed for the 4 speed swap?

Mike

Hi Mike and thank you for the welcome. I have most of the stuff to do the conversion. One concern I have is the placement of the 4 speed hump, it came without any instructions and I am told to just make a hole for the trans shifter and then set the hump in place and weld it down. I am very leery to do this. My plan was to remove "only the metal I really needed" as I want the piece just incase I sell the car and the new owner wants to have it automatic.
Also, does anyone know if the driveshaft is the same for an automatic and a 4 speed? I am told they are.
As always, thanks in advance
John

Hey
The 40th is finalized, at least in the Eastern US and Canada. It will be held at the WP Chrysler museum in late May or early June. Some people might have one at Carlisle during ACN. If they do, I just might go to both.
As soon as I can, I will post some pics

As far as the drive shaft, yes it's the same. I used the same 'shaft when I changed from auto to 4-speed.
