Greetings from San Diego, I used to (15 years ago) drag race a 67 Belvedere in Byron Illinois. It was a low 11's car but I had to sell it when I moved to California.

Now I am 66 and just got a 65 Coronet project car. See below

In this photo the car was on jack stands so I could inspect underside which is very good. There are 3 rust areas on the right side which I have completed most of the grinding on and am getting ready to do repairs in fiberglass plus gel coat. I really like what the previous owner was trying to present, kind of what kids from the 70's might have done with their mom's hand me down 4-door. The car is flat black with blackwall tires on black wheels and presents a sort of ALL BUSINESS attitude. I bought it with no engine as the previous one grenaded at the drag strip due to a missed shift. I already have a bare 360 block plus crank and pistons to mate to the race prepped A904 trans and all new (gears and bearings) rear end that has 3:55 posi gears. There will be quite a number of parts I am going to need so will look to forum members for either the parts themselves or reliable sources for them. I am retired so all of this will be done with a budget in mind. The car will be loud and have over 425 horsepower but will not be flawless in terms of cosmetics. Perhaps in a second version a few years from now I will make it colorful, shiny, and more pristine. Upon completion it will be mostly used for cruise nights in the summertime. I love the idea of saving and preserving a 49 year old car, and yes I know its a 4 door, but all who have seen it so far agree that it looks bad *** and can't wait for a ride.
