Hi there,

I'm new to the forum, but not new to Ma Mopar.

I have a 69 Road Runner that has been garaged for 21 years. It was originally an N96 383 4spd car but was virtually a shell when I swapped another car for it.

I am currently serving in Afghanistan and will be returning in a month for good. Its been a while since I've been involved deeply in the hobby, but I am hoping that by joining this forum I can share in your experiences to make my restoration go well and perhaps make some friends along the way.

I managed to acquire a few significant items to assemble a proper A12 tribute car, but in no way make any attempt to pawn it off as original from the factory. Over the years, I acquired an 18 spline hemi box, 4.10 dana, original 6 pack hood, 4 spd shifter and parts, bench seats, 440 engine and so forth. By no means am I done with my parts search, but I think its a good start. The car was originally an F5 medium green metallic car with two tone green interior. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the scheme. But being that the car's original drivetrain are long gone and the broadcast sheet and data plate are history as well, I might as well build it up the way I would have orderded one from the factory. I hope that does not offend the purists on the forum. The A12's are just so expensive and my budget along with having a family just doesn't allow for that.

I'd like to use orginal hardware less the 6 pack carbs (new carbs for me), so I am committed to the restoration. I look forward to reading about your experiences and gaining insight on how I can make my restoration an enjoyable experience until completed.

Shane

Cant wait to see the A12 car set up with your assemblesd parts, 18 spline hemi box, 4.10 dana, original 6 pack hood, 4 spd shifter and parts, bench seats, 440 engine etc. You have a good foundation.

Fellow Marylander,Welcome to our little part of the internet. Thanks for keeping our country safe and hope to see your project when you get home. Sounds like you'll be back in time for the Chrysler show in Carlisle, great place to pick up some parts for your car. Be safe.........

My thanks to all. We have about 30 days left here, but who's counting? My hotel room at Carlisle is already booked! I can't wait to get started when I return. When I break it out of the garage in June, I will post up some pics.

Welcome from another Marylander

Although living in Missouri, I came from Maryland too. I lived in Baltimore, Frostburg, Hagerstown, Churchville, and Bel Air (born in Bethesda). I think Churchville was my favorite. I get homesick everytime I come back. Spent my summers at Fenwick, O.C., Chincoteague, and Assateague. Even graduated from Frostburg State University. I went to college driving a 63 Valiant (my first car and the one I miss the most), 66 Valiant, and 68 Dodge Charger. Got out of these cars for years but am back into them again. Missouri is nice but I just can't find a good crab cake here.
