Quick post to introduce myself.
I live just North of Austin, in Georgetown, TX. If you're in the area and want to talk cars, let me know. I occasionally like to get car guys together at the house to drink beer and tell stories. Usually, the more beer, the better the stories.
Proud owner of a 1968 Hemi Super Bee, 4-Speed. Real J-Code Car. It is the only 4-speed Hemi in RR1 Burgundy Metallic. And, since that was the only year of that color, it's the only one ever.
The 'Bee has 46K original miles. It was frame off restored 10 years ago, then stuck into a private collection where it sat. Glen Govier visual inspection in 2011, then it sat some more. Unfortunately, the guy never really drove it, it was just a financial investment. I was lucky enough to find it and buy it.
Engine = non matching
Trans = numbers matching car
Dana 60 = numbers matching car
All original sheet metal and glass
Looking for correct wheels, and radiator
Plans for the car are to pull the non-numbers matching engine and pop a stroked crate engine in it, but retain the stock air cleaner and exhaust manifolds.. trying to keep it as stock looking as possible. It need some paint touch ups, but is show worthy as it is. This will not be a trailer queen. I'll drive it to events and shows... my feeling is a car isn't worth owning if you can't enjoy it.
