Originally mostly a Ford truck guy (1967 F-250 4x4) this 1966 Plymouth Satellite is my first venture as a Mopar owner. I have built a handfull of Chrysler motors for friends in the past, but this project is all mine. The car was originally a Polly-Powered survivor from a local "stoner" kid that got busted and the car impounded. My neighbor (who owns a wrecking yard) got the car thru lien sale and brought it home for his kid. I have been staring at this car for a few years thru the fence and really took a liking to the "slab-sided" look of this poor beast. Luckly for me, the neighbors kid could care less about cars and glued himself to his Nintendo. A bit of horse-tradeing later and I got me a Mopar! When I started the project, I was only going to change the oil, put some tires on it and cruse the local burger joint on Friday nights. It is now a completely dissassembled hulk on my car lift. So far I've had it media blasted, trunk floor and gas tank removed (rust). I've started the mini-tub / spring moved inboard process and have incoporated a Cal-Tracks type traction aid and have a Dana 60 ready to be narrowed. The motor choice (so far) is a low deck 400 that will end up just south of 500 inches. I have allways liked 4 speeds, so I am gathering pieces that I hope will allow me to Frankenstien an 18 spline A833 together. Work in progress!
