Near ready to buy a new set of wheels and tires. On the phone with Summit this morning. Courteous, but not very helpful and in a rush to complete an order and on to the next caller. I get it. Also did a lot of searching on the web. Considering 16” or 17”. I have 15’s on it now, steel 1pc Magnums, 235/60r’s (RWL, Goodrich) with around 6,000 miles on them. No complaints, just want a new look with redlines.
Seeing photos on the site, the aluminum Magnum 500’s look fantastic; but which ones to buy? There’s American, HK, Legendary, and others. Are there significant differences? I see just a bit btw them, though not much. Then there is the quality which is one reason for this post. Any advice would be great. Based on what I know not being much, these are made in China, even the 'American' wheels.
With the tires I have now, there is more room than I thought (having gone from 14’s and a much wider tire, leading me to opt a larger wheel and lower profile tire. The 16” tire would have the same OD if going to a 55 series and the 17’s going with a 50-series (26.1 to 26.3).
Last thing is going from a 4.5 to 4.0 backspace should reduce the too inside the well look. I have over 2” from the inner lip in the rear with what’s on it. I’ve read good things on this site about Diamondback redlines so they are a first choice as it it now.
Again any tips on what I’ve posted would be appreciated!
