Hello all. I have been lurking for while and decided to finally join up. I have a numbers matching 68' Hardtop Roadrunner, 383 / 4 speed car. I purchased it in 1978, my first car, 3rd owner. Decided to start the restoration 6 years ago, tore it down, media blasted the entire car, put it in the body shop then my wife decided to move. We moved but I had no place to work and have spent the last 4 years building my 1,600 sf shop. The shop is done, inside and out, and my bird is ready to go back together. I anticipate seeking much advice from the gurus on this form.

:blob1:hi and welcome to the site sounds like a nice project ,post some photos up when you can, we are all addicted to car **** here :headbang:

Welcome, car and shop pics are always nice

About all I have readily available is one I took when I picked it up from where I had it stored to trailer it home. If it's **** you want, you got it. She is fairly peeled down, not much to look at. Less now. The first step was to put it on stands and turn it into a non roller. I'll try to get more up.

Cool. Heck of a Good Guys show you have over there.

Indeed. The Bud Event center is a great venue. Last year it around 100 degrees and my youngest could only hang for about 3 hours, saw half the cars. The local one we have on the streets of Old Town is even better. The beer flows much better.

Welcome to fbbo glad to see you're not lurking in in the background anymore :lurk:

Thanks. We were originally from FC, work moved me to the Springs for 16 years, momma wanted to come home to FC.
Are you a member of So Co Mopars?

i used to be some time ago , but i got out of the hobby for a while. i havent talked to those guys in some time now. thats really cool you mentioned it though ! i used to run around in a few different 69-70 coronets and a couple 71-72 chargers back in the 90's when i was a member.

Hello Budnicks, i don't think I have ever really chatted with another non-post car guy before. Did you ever have trouble with the tops of the quarters in the door jamb area splitting? I always assumed it was from hard launches, tourque and no post. I have fixed them twice now. I'm hoping frame rail connectors will rectify the issue this time around.

There's a thread about those cracks somewhere, I've got some too

I figured there was probably a thread on it. Haven't researched it. I had my body man fabricate some reinforcement pieces welded to the inside to beef it up this time. It's almost 3/16" thick in there now. That and frame rail connectors will hopefully solve it, going with a Hemi crate this time around, keeping the original engine on a stand for another day.
