Hey Mopar Family,

I live in Houston, Texas and have been a mopar fan for years. Currently have a "Mr. Norm's" 71 Charger R/T, 440 auto in Bright Red. I drive it to shows and for a good grin on the face as often as I can. I am searching for the original engine and tranny, pad number 8835. I bought the car from an Ebay auction about 4 years ago from "Troy's Auto" in Rockford, Ill. He had no history on the car, only had it for 2 weeks, other than a previous owner of Kenneth Maulpin of Chicago, Ill. I called him and his father was rather rude and said his son owned the car for about 3 years and that was all he would say. I did some research and found out that it is a "Mr. Norm's" car sold at Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago. It was a special order car by a "Stanley Raczkowski" of Chicago. Car was built at the St. Louis assembly plant on Sept. 2, of 1970. I was able to contact a fellow by the name of Larry, forget the last name, that had worked for Mr. Norm and salvaged all of the old files from the dealership. Low and behold, he had the complete dealer folder on my car. It included all the original paperwork, ie. Dealer Order form, advance shipping notice, dealer invoice, amended dealer invoice, dealer hard card, original down payment receipt, conditional Bill Of Sale, final sales contract, window sticker and the original keys with the key number punchout inserts. Boy was I surprised to get a hold of the paperwork!
If anybody knows anything about the car or these 2 gentlemen, I would appreciate anything you can share.
Also in the garage, the wife and I share a 09 Challenger SRT8, auto in Brilliant Black. Talk about a fun ride! Hard to say which is more fun.
For work and towing, 08 Diesel Mega Cab, in Brilliant Black. Also a very nice running vehicle. What was I thinking, Black vehicles=Texas HEAT!:faint:

Anyway, looks like a great site here and I shall be around looking for parts and info.:wave3:

In the immortal words of Mr. Rorke, welcome to fantasy island :tongueflap:

Sounds like you got a nice piece of history. Good luck on your engine search.

Pictures would be good, regardless of condition. We are all about the cars

My brother lives in Belvidere Illinois and belongs to the Chicagoland Mopar Club. You might contact them with your needs, someone there may no someone that has owned the car.
