Hi all,

I was at a swap meet yesterday and found a 2 piece bellhousing that looked like you could remove appproximately 1/4 - 1/3 of the right/passenger side of the case for clutch adjustments, etc. It was held to the main bellhousing with 4 bolts, 2 on each side (sorry no pics).

The guy selling was a transmission rebuilder, but admitted to being somewhat new to Mopars but said it should be stronger than the cast housings he had there. I am new to Mopars also, and didn't want to take a chance on blowing $250 on the wrong part.

Anyone seen one of these and if so, is it a good idea for my build or would a standard housing be cheaper and all I need? (400 to 500 stroker with 23 spline 833, 3:73 rear, street duty only)???

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Did it have heavy webbing on the outside? Maybe it was an old Ansen piece. Those were cast steel I believe and fine if you know for sure there are no cracks or other issues. You can take some of the worry out if you have a good quality steel flywheel and everything is properly balanced.
