No Body Beat The Rifle Man

Thanks Augie, that was great. I used to watch that, and all the other westerns way back then. I even had the toy version of that rifle. Was made of metal but had a heavy plastic wood grain stock. I wish they had been in color. Just imagine if they were directed by Sam Peckinpah, the blood would have been everywhere! Gore Central! I bet the rating would have gone through the roof! LOL. Remember how all the old westerns showed that good guys with guns were a good thing! Seems largely forgotten these days. If I recall, Josh Randall,(Steve McQueen) on "Wanted Dead or Alive" had a similar but shorter rifle strapped to his side. I am also willing to bet that almost no one here would remember "Shotgun Slade". But I could be wrong on that. There were westerns on almost every night back then. Good times for all.

I own a Winchester lever action to this day (30-30) in part because of this show and various John Wayne flicks.
I love the damn thing.

He was also gay. Funny how many bullets were fired and very few people died. They would just get up and say I " its only my shoulder, I'll be ok" and grab his shoulder and walk away. Cowboys were a lot tougher in the movies..

Naw:
Chuck Connors the American actor (deceased) was married 3 times, and fathered four children. His wives included Elizabeth Riddell Connors, Kamala Devi, and Faith Quabius. At the time of his death, he was in a relationship with Rose Mary Grumley.

Marriage is a smoke screen a lot of times. Many of Hollywoods' famous actors of the 30's thru 60's were gay/bi and were married and had children. It is just biology that lets you reproduce. Sexuality is psychological, not biological

Just another social disease that was allowed to spread. Thank you hollywood.

Most original Winchester repeaters where 44's.
Carry a 6 shooter, repeater and carry one cartridge.
The riflemans was a custom 44/40 model 1892. 15 round capacity.

If given the choise I rather have a Henry.

I read where he averaged 2.50 people per episode killed over the total period it was on TV. What a Guy!

The 92's have a smooth, tight action as compared to the loosey, goosey 94's. John Wayne's was also a 1892. Most rifles used in the westerns were also 92's.
Just like in most westerns, regardless of time period, the 1873 Colt is mostly used or made-up double actions with an external ejector rod to look like one at a distance.

The rifleman had Macgyver skills also.
Made this rifle out of a pistol, fence board & a stick for a rear sight?

Hilarious...
