Hello, got a 65 Plymounth, had a p/s pump rebuilt a year ago
Lately noticed at idle, I have lost the p/s, I've checked belt, fluid etc
Worked fine for up until a month ago but now getting worse
Any suggestions ? A friend of my said maybe they didn't calibrate the pump property?

Thanks in advance

If it worked at one time, the pump had to have been built correctly. On your pump, at the high pressure fitting, on the pump, that the high pressure line connects to. There is the valve that governs pressure in the system. Take the hose off, and the fitting. Behind that fitting is the valve. It fits rather loosely in the pump. Behind it is a spring. Please, before you take the valve out, note it's orientation in the pump. I'm thinking there maybe debris in the system that's sticking the valve. Start by checking for debris. As far as testing for pressure, you will need a 15 hundred pound gauge or higher. Otherwise your guessing at what's wrong in the system. Let me know.
