Hello everyone,
New to this site but had plenty of pentastar power over the years. The qualifier for here is my current and first car I purchased outside of the parental influence, a 71 road runner.
An original 383/3spd/ 3.23 car, black w/ white bench interior, RR trim group and N96 air grabber car. Originally sold new from Port Chrysler/Plymouth in Wilimington NC, I purchased it from it's 13th owner, in Wilmington, in 1986, while stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB. Rolled it over shortly there after, ( uncle Jack Daniels is NOT a good co-pilot!), it has been gone through completely since then and a few mods and upgrades were made.
The car is still black but with a black bucket/buddy seat interior, the A01 light group, and front and rear spoilers. The 383 still resides upfront with a TKO 500 5speed sending power back to the 4:10 suregrip. All this parallels the TTI 2.5" H pipe exhaust coming from the HP Manifolds and ending in the downspouts. To handle this the drums were ditched for mopar front and 88 tbird rear disks with a vette master cylinder...no power assist. 1 inch T-bars up front, 7 leaf springs out back, all poly graphite bushings including the Hellwig front and rear anti-sway bars, KYB shocks, and Magnum Force upper control arms. All that keeps the 255 60 15's and 15X8 Magnum 500's planted where they should be. It's not the quickest, fastest, or best in the corners, but it does all of them pretty darn well and gets 20 mpg to boot, which is important because I drive it almost daily in the summer.
The last mod waiting in the wings is factory power sunroof found from an SSP that had the rear bumper pushed to rear wheel well by a truck.
Ok , long winded, but that's the history of the road chicken.
