I know it sounds bad, but that engine is worth that around here. then the trans and all the stuff? If I had the money, that drivetrain would find it's way into my 68 charger.

Holy cow, what happened to that car? What a shame to see a hemi charger like that. He wants 10k? is that car even salvageable? If I were him I would pull the Hemi get it all cleaned up and hang on to it but thats me :) or if he has to have the money sell the hemi all cleaned up for 10k not that smashed up heap what a shame!

I disagree that the driveline parts are worth that much money because of the unknown condition of the parts and unknown damage to the parts caused by the fire. Yes, a Hemi, 18 spline 4 speed, and dana are valuable parts but not these parts that could have and most likely have suffered unknown damage caused by the fire. Just because that motor doesn't look bad does not mean there is no internal damage from the fire. I would never buy parts in this condition sight unseen, that is just asking for trouble.

Looks darn good to me the rad hose wasnt even burnt off got a dana 60 hemi trans k frame will be good big brakes numbered rad the carbs look good air cleaner so on and so on theres a ton of value there if it wasnt so far from where I live I would be all over this car try to find a good core motor to rebuild if it turns over that would be all I need to hear

Seems pretty ambitious to me too. However, my best bud spent almost that much ($8500) on a total basket-case 69 GTO. Sure, its a 400/4speed convertible, but hell, it ain't no hemi....it ain't even a Mopar! It is, however, off the rotisserie, 90% reassembled, and a beautiful car.

Just because the wires, hoses and little things did not burn doesn't mean the block and heads didn't receive extreme heat from underneath damaging the block, trans and rearend. The k-frame and rad could have warped in the high heat. Did you even look at how badly warped the sheetmetal is? The interior is completely gone and the fender tag almost burnt up. There are to many unknown factors with this heap for it to be worth over 13 grand and the reserve is still not met. I think someone would be nuts to take a chance on this driveline but that is just me. I like my money, work very hard for it and would never waste it on something like this.

I agreee pettyblue72, people who have that kind of money to waste on a total wreck without knowing if the drive train is even any good Is crazy , they should take and give their money to a charity that would do some good to help people instead of wasting money.

I bought twelve old mopars for scrap once that were in a building that burned down, and it got so hot the aluminum transmissions melted,as well as anything aluminum. But the 383 and 413 engines being cast iron were fine, cast pistons got no damage. One trans was behind a 392 hemi, and the aluminum bell was liquefied, but that cast iron transmission was rebuilt and is in use today. Those cars were burned so bad you couldn't even tell what they were. At least this one looks like a car. LoL

4th thread/post about that same 66 Hemi Charger on here now, same responses/arguments, now just different people... "if" the drivetrain isn't junk, if it turns over even, it's well worth $10k, for a 426ci Hemi Hemi 4 speed & Dana 60, have you seen what prices are for that stuff, a fool is born everyday, that will overpay & just the engine could sell for that easily... my $0.02 cents... someone in another thread said it did look far worse in person than what the photos showed... I haven't seen it in person... IMHFO like everyone else I have one too, the fire would have had to get to 1500*-2000* for a long period of time, to really even hurt the cast iron, maybe the rings, bearings, rubber, sheet metal, carbs, other consumable parts etc., may be junk, but the hard parts, forged steel & cast are more in likely fine, rebuild-able, if you get it, for the right price... it looks like the fire was mainly in the interior... but it's all speculation, until you actually go look at it & see for yourself...
