Here they come. Tropical storm Barry...All you guys and gals in Louisiana and the Gulf region take care and stay safe!

No levee system to protect my property.
I have seen the grass in my yard completely covered, every blade, so so far, so good.
This (Saturday) morning:
About 2.5 blocks toward the "creek":

Have you done anything to secure your RR, protect it from any possible flooding? Stay safe buddy !!!!!

I took those pix around 6:30am.
In the last 2 hours, my front lawn is underwater...
Wind from the southeast blowing northwest blows water into Lake Pontchartrain and into the bayous from there, into my yard.
Here's the latest:

Thoughts and prayers out to you and the residents of Louisiana that you don't get under water too much . . . stay safe and "try" to stay dry . . .

It's in the detached garage a few inches above ground level. The water has been higher than this before and not gone in the garage. The most I may have to do is drive up onto the inclined driveway that leads to the house.
If this would have been a more powerful storm, I would have moved my car to my friend's house about 18 minutes away.

If the water starts getting higher, and it's too late to relocate it, do you have jack stands to raise the RR even higher?

This has been one strange storm!! It wouldn't surprise me if it reorganized off shore and hit the Houston area head on!

I had to do that a couple of times where I used to live. My detached garage was higher than my house but it got water in it anyways. After that, I made sure I had enough jack stands for at least 3 cars and still do. Sold that old place in 84 and so far, no flooding here except for wind blown water getting into my present shop.

High tide is at 5pm, so I'll be checking the water level all day.
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

At 6:30am when I took this picture, my driveway was dry...
This is my front yard now:

My focal point is the concrete driveway that connects the attached garage driveway ramp to the detached garage door. That piece of driveway has gone underwater before, but the water still didn't get inside the detached garage.
I already picked up anything off the floor of the detached garage that I didn't want to get wet, and for water to threaten the Roadrunner or my Caravan, it would have to rise at least another foot, and I don't see that happening.
I knew when we bought this house that it had flooded more than once, and the house is about 5 feet above ground level.
That's the risk you take/price you pay for having a bayou behind your home that leads to some of the best fishing and crabbing in the area. Beautiful wild swampland and wooded areas, wild pigs and deer...
I certainly hope that the house doesn't flood in my lifetime, but I have a great idea for a plaster finish on the walls if the sheetrock ever has to come out, and my theater room is upstairs and will never flood. As long as the GTO and Roadrunner are safe, along with my audio video stuff, firearms, and pets, the rest can be replaced.
I'm not really worried. I've been worried before, for good reason, when Katrina hit. We were living right outside of New Orleans and I had to pull my speakers and furniture out of that theater room because it was about 4" lower than the rest of the house.

High tide in Lake Pontchartrain is around 5:15pm, so I have to stay on top of the rising water until at least 6pm. After that, I should be fine.

Better start the preflight of the Cajun Navy! Good Luck
