Just about anything can be repaired if you have the tools but is it worth the time and expense vs just getting another one?
Sure you can repair it, but maybe not you. Find someone who does metal fabrication and have it repaired properly. Heating and banging can distort but pressure applied by a press can straighten it. A decent metal worker will also check the trueness of the finished job. From a 74 Charger 318 car. Just pulled K member and found this. Looks like someone put a tow chain on here. The one weld is busted as you can see. But the up and down support is intact. Can I heat this up, hammer it back in place, and weld it up? this is on the left (drivers) side.
