Hello All,
I'm doing a rotisserie restoration on a 69 super bee. I going from a B5 Blue that was repainted Orange (rather a crappy job too) to white. I have a 440 six pack engine to put in it and have a fiberglass 6 pack hood. Does anyone know the paint that was used on the original 6pack hood. I was going with a good black with a semi flat clear coat. The problem is, the clear coat is very susceptible to any kind of damage. A fingernail can put a permanent mark that cannot be rubbed out. After looking at a lot of pictures of Super Bees, it seems they all have pretty much the same amount of semi flat finish. My plan was to black the hood, paint the "six pack" letters on and clear coat the entire hood, so you can't feel the letters. I've got about 3-4 weeks to find the correct paint to finish the project. Can anyone help? I uploaded a picture of the car before the resto started. If I did it right, it should be attached to the message.
Thanks
