Parallel parking. It's not for everyone.

I couldnt watch for more than 10 seconds. I have zero patience anymore when it comes to this level of stupidity. This person shouldnt even possess a drivers license.

Oh, I couldn't even watch it all. How will they ever get the car out? My first car was a 74 Plymouth fury, big old 4 door land yacht. I worked in downtown Lansing and had to parallel park it. Even at 16, it was one shot in the spot.

The world's tiniest little itty-bitty car, and this person behind the wheel can't park that??? No wonder that car manufacturers have cars now that parallel-park themselves. This allows stupid people to crawl behind the wheel

Are we and the Canadians the only ones that parallel park? Could they not have just picked it up and carried it in? When are daughters took thier driving test in your then 76 Chrysler town&country wagon the examiners would not even let them try claiming there were not parking spots long enough to park it in.

The problem as I see it is the driver's test. Here in PA, it is the most ridiculous, simple test that I bet many untrained 10 year old kids could pass. I bet a huge number of current US drivers would fail the UK drivers test.

I think the US needs to revamp its drivers test. (a) it should test people on both handling the car as well as traffic, and make it a REAL test. (b) people should be re-tested as they get older.

She should of just backed it in would of fit fine that way .

Also just wanted to add I could of parked a dump truck in that spot.

People can't drive anymore ,if it doesn't have park assistant,GPS,and the lane safety crap , 80% of people can't drive,
My wife can't back into a spot with out a certain back up camera ,and parallel park ha ha yeah not a chance ,if the car can't do it she won't bother .

Mopar 3 B said it best....by the looks of things they could have picked up and carried the car into the spot!

It was aggravating enough to watch...I could imagine the road rage if I was waiting to get past them.

While studying in Madrid, Spain, I watched drivers with more expertise. They can parallel park in a space with only 3-6 inches on each side. They just gently touch bumpers front and rear, over and over again, until they either get in or get out. It worked!

I was helping a friend of mine who owned a driving school years ago, and I was taking kids out and teaching them how to drive. I would teach them parallel parking in front of an elementary school on the weekends, and we would put out cones and the kids would try to park between them.

We were doing this one weekend and two Maryland State Police troopers were running a speed trap across from the school, and when they weren't writing tickets they were laughing their asses off at the kids running up on the curb, hitting the cones, etc. When it looked like the Troopers were getting ready to move on, I called over to them and challenged them to come on over and show the kids how it's done.

They jumped into their Crown Vic, came over to the school, and said they would be glad to show how they do it. As they went around the parking lot to get into position, I had two of the kids kick the cones about two feet closer together. The first guy got in but did a crappy job, so of course his pal has to show him up. :) They switched seats and when they went to swing around I had the kids move the cones in another foot or so. The second trooper got the car in, but it was worse than the first guy, who was now desperate to try again so he wouldn't look like a failure in front of a bunch of teenagers. :)

Once again, I had the kids bump the cones in, and neither guy could park the car, which was when we all started laughing and the cops finally figured out they had been had and left. :) I saw the same two guys a few weeks later in the same spot and asked them if they wanted to try again, but they weren't gonna get fooled twice. :)

Tell me again why they are called "smart cars", they're obviously not talking about the people driving them.

I watched an old 2013 episode of Mythbusters, a few nights ago
they had a man vs woman battle of the sex's part 2,
a parallel parking experiment, painful to watch,
almost everyone failed hit the other cars in-front & rear, really scored crappy,
men were far quicker more confident but didn't score any better "usually"
women were far more apprehensive & more methodical,
but they mostly all still hit everything insight, front & back too

allegedly by the scores the hosts said "it's statically tied",
but both failed miserably

Agreed. Here in New Zealand you get retested at age 75, and then you have to retest every 2-5 years after that depending on Medical advice.

I agree, walk up to the car, ask for their license, take it, tear it up, then torch the car.

oH, and then kindly point them to the nearest bus stop.

Was this "smart" person trying to park or trying to get out?? Are you sure???.........................MO
