I am looking at picking up a 66 b body complete minus motor with the intention of parting both for my project as well as parting out.
Does anyone know if this need to be treated as a regular car purchase regarding registration/plates/taxes?
Illinois

im not sure. but i THINK if you have no intention on driving it and are using it for parts, registration isnt necessary.....DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT . Junk yards have hundreds of cars and im SURE they dont pay registration on them. no plates if yaint gonna drive it....but TAXES?.....not sure either. if its a cash deal ...uncle sam dont need to know about it. just thinking rationally here but i have been call irrational and about 567,896.3 times among other things..and i could be wrong about all of it.

You don't need to register it if you don't plan to drive it. When you go to bring whats left to the salvage yard you just bring the title with you. It doesn't even have to be signed in your name, they just need the title.

By the way, what 66 b body are you picking up? I need a few things from a Coronet if thats what you are picking up and I live in North West Indiana near Chicago.

It is a 1966 coronet. I will be looking at sunday. I believe everything except motor is there.
Let me know what you neef. Pm me.
