Philadelphia Airport

If it was just me, I could find cheaper flights no problem. I'm traveling with my wife, who is handicapped. The more stops is hard on her. Getting on and off planes, and trying to get to the next gate is difficult. Not only on her but me also, due to she does not travel light.
I thought you said $3500. That flight schedule for both of you is $2800 with only one stop.

I was wrong about about the price increase from last year flying into MDT. I pulled up my receipt from last year, and this year is only $1100 dollars more than last year. Thats less than $600 more per ticket than last year. But I can save $1500 per ticket going to PHL instead of MDT.

I know the flight is way cheaper flying economy. But due to the length of the flights, and my wife's handicap we can't fly economy. I'm not complaining, but still trying to save some money.

Well I tried. You’re on your own now. I still don’t recommend flying to PHL, BWI, or Dulles, If Harrisburg is a choice.

Philly is a decent airport to get around in - at least easier than Newark. You might think about driving to the outskirts of Philly and stay at a hotel there, to make your morning drive easier. I think you might be better off staying southwest of the city - maybe around the town of Media.

Thanks for the effort. I don't mind spending the money just looking for the best deal I can find. More than likely I'll fly into MDT. Less stress makes for a better vacation.

I was juggling some of the same issues when booking a flight for my wife in April. She finally decided to fly out of Philadelphia, after I made the decision to drive her to the airport (I'm not traveling with her, family deal with her siblings.) Significant savings and, we were able to get a departure time on off peak hours. Harrisburg is far more user friendly, especially for someone dealing with a disability.

During my corporate tour, I flew into Philly frequently. I was a regular at the Red Roof Inn up the street from the airport, always stayed there the night before a departure, rather than risk traffic problems. Even if things go perfectly, MDT is far less stress.

PHL is one of the few US airports with a direct rail link to the city. every 30 min, pay on train, takes you to PHL 30th st, then train to Hburg, then rent car much cheaper there! Or maybe a friend could pick you up at the station. Check Amtrak site for schedules. Don't reflexely drive.. even tho you are going to a car show!!

Picked up my Pal John in 21 at MDT. Easy. My borrowed 09 that I stupidly sold to Linda’s Grandson.
He flew in from SJC and made one connection that year. Minutes to Hotel.
