I have a decidedly stock 69 GTX and would like to change out the stock 14s. I had a set of 15s picked out and would stay with Silvertowns or the like for a redline look. Obviously I don’t need some super sticky race tires, but it sure won’t hurt if some are available in the future of companies decide to support such. I then noticed you can get Magnum 500s in 16. Looks like there are a few better options than the 15s have for rubber. I don’t know of anybody running those and the 15s won’t look out of place at all given the small change of a plus 1, and the cars could be had with them anyway factory. I typically dont like the look of the 17s people put in our cars.

Any pics of 16s would be appreciated.

One of your choice issues for tires will be white letters. Its very hard to find white letter tires bigger than 15's. Keep in mind the 16's you have seen are all aluminum wheels.

Tire selection for the 16" wheel diameter really sucks. I abandoned the attempt to make a set of 16" wheels work in my Jigsaw build.

Lots of race tires and drag radials in 15s.
Great handling tires available in 17s
Imo, gotta agree with Kern Dog. 16 selection is poor, and getting worse. I had to special order tires for a mid-nineties Z28 16" wheel.
I have 16s with slicks for my 62, ONLY because the slicks were almost free (relatively) and to just look at them casually, you can't tell they aren't 15s.
I understand you don't want or need drag tires, but if I were you, I'd either stick with 15s, or go to 17s. I have 17s on my 55 chevy, and I like the way they look. The secret is.... buy taller tires, not the rubber band look.
