Plan BEE

Starting a build thread here, I have been posting in the Racers Forum for some time now. Didn’t plan to go this deep. More info on my YouTube channel of the same call name as here.

Decided to keep my Satellite as a cruiser, so we dragged this HEEP home. I have the complete drive train to make this my street strip car. This Coronet provides a 3:23 suregrip 8.75 rearend for the Satellite and has a 400ci engine and 727 rebuildable cores so I can eventually do a “mild” 451 in the future if they check out ok. Unfortunately it’s Minnesota and the rain in the video is frozen with a good 6 inches of ❄️ on the car☹️. Got it covered for now.

Day one, after -50 degree temps, frozen rain and now snow. Not much progress, just a glimpse behind the curtain.

I think you should actually paint "Plan BEE" on the side of the car when you are ready to go racing.

Been gathering parts.

1. Assorted broken grills to restore 2
2. Bucket seats, these are nice enough to use as is for a while keeping the ratty theme. Plan to clean up the dash otherwise that’s it for interior.
3. Front Valance
4. Front Valance trim
5. Rear tail panel trim
6. Rear quarter end caps
7. Tail lights

Been a while, Narrowed Dana almost done. Hoping to be sitting on the wheels this weekend!

That is a great name for the project.

The frame rail had some rot, gonna need to patch the drivers side torsion bar cross member too... otherwise just a couple small holes in the trunk.

The Satellite got new front and rear Shocks and SS rear leaf springs. The 8 3/4 out of the Coronet turned out to be a 721 with 2.94 sure grip. Looking for other options at this point. Satellite is tucked away now. Supposed to snow this weekend...

Going to media blast underside and engine bay, paint and reassemble. Once running we will replace quarters and fog in some F3, the pin on race weight fiberglass hood will probably be painted flat black.

That's a great project car!

You guys in the north have it twice as worse as us guys in the south. Cold and snow are not fun for working on cars.

I really like your earlier walk around videos and kind of wish I had done the same before starting on mine.

Thank you! Yeah my channel is really just a way for me to watch my cars on my big screen TV during the long Winters in Minnesota. I am more of an enthusiast, not a how too kind of guy. Trying to learn as I go.
