I know that they were used in a 383 back in 67-68. Might be good in a 440. I use Autolite 85's and they are replacements for about all my cars. I recently bought some Autolite A 42's NOS and the Autolite customer service told me they were essentially the same as the Autolite 85. The reason I bought them other than the price was that my 56 Desoto 330 Hemi had them in it when I got it back running in 2012.
Glad the Champions work good for you, I could not get any life out of them in the 60's that's the reason I went to Autolite. I really don't know who made the Mopar plugs back then.
I have been using a new set never opened, Mopar NOS set (Champion Made) plugs P67 in my 318. they are working fine good color, runs just as good as the Bosch Platinum tips I ran for 16 years prior.
