I have a two door 1971 Plymouth Satellite that both doors had old school dent repair meaning they screwed in slide hammer and got dents out and then filled holes with filler. The door is rusting on the inside and was wanting to take door skin off and knock off all the rust and replace but I don’t think anyone makes any...so what is best way to fix this issue. I was wondering if I take door skin off can I put it back together no issue? Also not big deal to keep and fill bc it’s gonna be a daily driver but need to stop rust so it doesn’t eat thru but can’t reach all the areas.

nobody makes any skins for doors that i'm aware of
there was a 71 NOS door skin on ebarf not too long ago.

on my doors I used a rust convertor/ecapsulator product
on the inside of them where I couldn't reach.
they only had a small amount of surface rust inside.

Yeah I was thinking of doing that too. Have you ever used electrolysis to get rid of rust... bc I don’t know if I could just do that then cover with rust converter

I haven't tried that.
you could go crazy and soak it in a kiddy pool of solution electricfied
but
I would treat it with a phosphoric acid product and throw a encapsulator over it
and kick it down the road.
you said its a driver

nice doors for most of our 60's-70's era mopars are scarce and expensive these days

True lol. People are crazy with their prices. It’s like how do you want so much for something that is rotting in the ground. I appreciate it...thanks.

an inexpensive way I read about which I haven't tried myself would be to get some Molasses
its about 10 bucks a gallon at Tractor supply
you can mix it about 10 to one with water for a rust solution
so for about 50 bucks you can get 50 gallons of solution
use a kiddie pool or
build a vat with lumber and use a pond liner or 6 mil plastic
to line it and you can use sand or stone to fill the gaps
between the the wat and liner to take up the dead space
to use less solution.
or double line the vat and use water in between the layers
you might have to leave the door in for a couple of days
for the stuff to completely work (I think molasses takes a bit longer to work then evaporust both are weak acids)
I have a nice set of rear springs I intend to do
something like this with some evaporust in the future.
