Holly Crap, That really sucks when that **** happens... I had a friend have that happen with a car breaking the ladder bars front 3/4" Hiem joints at over 100+mph at Sacramento Raceway after a Car Craft Show {in the early 80's I think}, really screwed up his very nice mid 9 second N20 67-68 BB Mustang, scary **** at speed...

happened to a 70 chevelle at lebanon valley. i was in the waterbox and the chevelle did the same thing. rear almost hit my car. it rolled backwards. needless to say, i soiled my pants when i saw those tires and rear coming right at me.

Never quite seen anything like that at the drags although have seen a few broken axles that were quite entertaining! Did see a rear end leave a late model stock car once when the poorly welded brackets broke. That was pretty exciting!

Had a guy couple years ago waiting to get up to the line...The car popped into gear and ran over a kid...Luckily he was not hurt bad..But it seems this was the secound time this had happened...The kid was the son of the founder of the good guys car show in the sf bay area..

That happened to a chevelle in front of me. i was in the burnout box and the wheels and rear rolled backwards and tapped my front fender.
