I’m a little under the weather so wa looking for a car show to watch on Netflix.
I have to say that I don’t really like most of them.
So I watched the first episode of Drive Hard: The Maloof Way. What a bunch of nonsense. All about his good looking daughters that are going to take over the business. Old man seems like a legit guy, but damn everything was fake.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I have found that most (if not all) 'reality' shows are either fake or full of BS.

Scripted to a degree....even those HGTV shows where a couple has to choose one out of three houses to buy.....it's all scripted in advance, and fake as can be.

Edited and produced for the drama. Either that or they're morons - there's always a crisis at hand just on a commercial break.

There’s a couple of really young guys (20?) that are supposed to be as good as any mechanic alive. Shows them fitting what I’m sure is a piece of galvanized pipe to a powder coated chassis.
Lots of stuff like that, girls doing fake saw cuts.
Now that I think about it, might be fun to watch with some buddies and rag on it.

I like watching all the bits of a house build where they gloss over small mistakes.....and make out it's all good.

Listening to the sales people on those programs, shows how much BS they spout to get purchasers excited.

I don't/won't ever do 'Netflix'
most of it is lefties-produced BS

I saw a new show on MotorTrend network,
right after Wheeler Dealers, doing an MGB
(not one of my favorite shows now either)
1st episode 'about a 'mechanic guy' saving cars
(he rescued a 67 Rustang 6 banger, sat for 28 (?) years)
who gets/buys cars that have been sitting for decades
running & driving, just back on the road :jackoff:
locked up brakes, engine & carb issues, temp fuel (boat tank)
(like a knock off, of Junkyard Rescue Roadkill style, with humor, bad humor thou)
band-aided or subpar repairs & flips them,
moves on to the next
his wife/GF (?) helps when he gets the car/truck in the shop

I don't remember the name
probably won't watch it again either

I watch no "fake reality" tv (isn't that an oxymoron?) My wife and I hung on with Survivor for too many years. The last number of years it's just kept hanging on like gum on the bottom of your shoe. We gave up on it a few years ago when it just kept getting more and more ridiculous in terms of all these stupid idols and other finds. Many years into it they went to having a "hidden idol" to spice up the show. From there to having countless idols and stupid odds and ends blah blah blah..... As I noticed all that foolishness I separated myself and my time from that mindless show. There were other things I noticed from the beginning that just had no logic to them other than being purposefully set up that way. To me - Realty tv is nearly as much a plague on society as social media - I said "nearly". To me social media has created a massive decline in our culture and way of life. I'll have nothing to do with it. FBBO is a close to SM as I'll ever get. I despise everything it has done and stands for in our world.

I know NOTHING about any Maloof show, but there is a Maloof family of racers that I have seen here at my local socal track.
I will say this, Sammy Maloof's engines make power, and his cars, some driven by his daughters, run hard.

Yeah, like I said the old man seems like he knows what’s up, but the show is crap.

They held a micrometer up to the crank and said “yep the balance is off 160 grams.”

Speaking of which - Motor Trend is a Discovery network, one of many of course.
Guess which way those cable overlords lean politically?

Nope, can't "do" MT....or anything Discovery, really.
