Hello I have a 68 charger 318 5.2 which has a Thompson style steering pump. Bought a rebuild kit and have most do it apart but not sure how the pulley shaft comes off. Any help would be appreciated. Also, are the federal and Thompson pumps interchangeable with the reservoir? Would anybody happen to know of any other pump sit-ups for a 318 because the Thompson seems to be kinda rare. Thank you!

Hey man, Only help I can offer is that I finally found one (Thompson) at Rockauto.com. Something like 60 bucks shipped. Good luck. I had a hell of a time finding one. Also good luck in the rebuild. Also Im told a Saginaw will interchange with a mounting kit.

See I thought so too. I have a Saginaw setup and brackets but do I need a longer belt to swap? I can't figure out a way to get the belt on the pulley! Thanks for the rock auto info ill check that out!
