I need a power window motor for a 79 cordoba and after checking around , from what I have found out is that this motor was used in alot of mopar cars and alot of years. So is this true ? According to what I found out a motor from a 82 5th ave and others would fit. So am I wrong if this is true when i go to a wrecking yard one of them from alot of years should fit?:read:

I think there is an extra bolt location on some, but I don't think it's absolutely necesary.

well found diplomat and took the motor off, totally different configureration. It was a 180 difference.

Interesting.
The ones from a 5th Ave, look just like the ones in my 74 Charger, except one has a 4th (I think) bolt hole on a cast on housing extension.

They might be different left to right. Did you get one from the same side of the car?

I took it from the passenger side which is the side I needed. The diplomats motor was in the upper corner of the door and my 79 has in the lower part. Put them side by side and it was 180 out.:read:

Chrysler did use a common window lift motor for across several platforms and a wide range of model years. They do come in left and right hand side versions however, with two different gear housings. Either swap out the gear housing or get the complete motor from the opposite side of whatever donor car you are working with.

I have power windows in my 72 charger and Oreillys Auto parts had a remand in stock roughly $50 and they take a core charge if u have the old one. I was just curious if anyone carried them since all 4 of mine seem to be bad. So i did a search and weird to say they stocked them. I guess allot of them were used, as stated earlier.

If you hit those window motors hard with a rubber mallet they will come back to life.Only reason they quit working is from lack of use.

Should I look on eBay for a power window rubber mallet?

Just kidding! Hmm, wait. No, actually I think I could probably sell a few if I word it properly.

Still kidding.
