Pre 70 8-3/4 in a 73 satellite

I have a 73 satellite that now has the 8-1/4 rear end in it I have a pre 70 8-3/4 rear end for it. what do I need to swap it over? The 8-3/4 measures 55" flange to flange and the spring perch centers are 43-1/2. Do I need to move the spring perches?

I think the perches on the 70 and down are 44 inch center to center. Hope this helps.

I believe the 71 and up b bodies are wider. A simple solution would be to crawl under the car with a tape measure.
