I need a little guidance on setting the initial toe on my new front suspension. QA1 says to put the spindles to visible 0. There is not enough adjustment to make the tie rods short enough to work. Called QA1 and they said to cut the tie rods down to work; there instructions also say this. That would be fine, but it would leave me with very little adjustment. That makes me nervous.
The other thing that seems off to me is that with the rack centered the tie rods are not the same distance from the spindle. Is this normal?
If you have done this install, please run me through the steps that you took.
This is a full QA1 front coil over suspension being installed in a 1967 GTX.

I have 2 of the Gerst front suspension on my cars. I did not cut any tyrod ends. There is a change in the rack and pinion, inside of the boots on my Road Runner. I watched Carl do it, but do not remember what he did. Maybe an extension. Didn't do it on my A Body. Both sides should be close to the same if the rack is centered. Will pm you my phone number.
