I am in process of re-attaching quarter glass to its base

what thickness butyl tape should i be using?

i also need to re-attach the chrome as well. do i use same thickness butyl tape for that as well?

id rather not use glue which comes in the tube as if i ever needed to remove the glass later it would be next to difficult. was trying to find the thickness online and came across that info.

it seems the tape wrapped around the glass but the largest butyl tape i could find is 1/2 inch width so im guessing i would need to place 3 strips (sides and bottom, or only sides?)

thanks.

What are you working on?

Never had the glass apart from it's base before but I would say 1/2 inch in the base would be sufficient and not install it fully until you do a "trial and error" first. Sorry, not much help though. I thought you was talking about the seal attached to the chrome piece.

heya yea i was thinking of using 1/2 as well

i will try a small portion to see how it goes before doing the entire thing

much appreciated
