Quarter panel spot welds. How to find?

When removing a full quarter panel what is the best way to find the spot welds? I'm thinking to remove the paint. If so what is a good paint remover. Thanks in advance. Don't think it matters but car is a1967 Coronet.

Most of the welds should be easy enough to see because they have left a slight depression. You'll have to remove the lead filler in the sail panel where the quarter and roof join together.

take a wire wheel to the area and they will appear like magic
rust,paint and seam sealer will hide them
and the only way to find some of them is to clean up the area
they are in really good.

There may also be leaded seam down on the rocker. There was one on my 68 roadrunner.

I used a flap disc over a suspected spot weld to find it, and then ground it away with the flap disc to avoid grinding away a plug weld later on the other side of the weld.

Which is usually a better idea than slinging lead dust in the air.
Just don't get crazy with the heat.

There is no lead filler on 66/67 quarter to roof seam. It's under the trim.

There is however a HUGE lead panel on the bottom of the quarter to rocker seam.

66/67 spot welds don't seem to be as pronounced as later ones.

The ones on my 72 and 73 are very apparent.

I think scuff sanding or wire brush is probably the way.
