I have a '73 RR with the standard Rally dash which I would like to convert to a Tach. dash using the modern gauge that looks stock and the better Rally gauges again that look stock but have modern works. I don't see specific gauges for the 71-4 RR but I do see gauges for an E body dash. Can I substitute the E body gauges? I am aware that the E body panel is slightly wider than the B body panel.

The E-body tach won't work. Classic has the 71-4B tach. Also the cluster frame is different between the standard Rallye and the clock/tach Rallye.

I was not referring to the E body Tach but to the other gauges.....Amps, Oil Pressure, Temperature, and Fuel level. I am aware of the dash frame differences also. I have a frame that has been "adjusted" to allow the Tach to fit.

frames are diff but like you noticed, it got marks to be cut/modified to convert it to clock/tach cluster

no, E body gauges are diff diameter aspect.

Honestly, is way easier and can be even cheaper get a complete cluster instead convert it

I have a ratty Rally cluster but all the gauges need to be refurbished and that ain't cheap. It also beats the hell out of a retired fallows fixed income. What I wanted to do is retain the stock look but have modern internals for the gauges. Fall back plan is to use the replacement tach from Classic industries, fit a couple of Auto-Meter gauges in the pods, probably Temperature and Oil Pressure, hang the other 2, Fuel Level and Volts, under the dash and rock off into the sunset.
