The previous owner removed the inner fenders and cut the top out of the shock towers and installed square tubing with a shock mount.

I am removing all this crap; it works but sure looks ugly. I am installing new shock towers(used) and will install 1.5" round forward strut tubing( similar to magnaforce ones except I made them ). Has anyone ever made their own inner fenders out of aluminum and bolted them in ? Or maybe used some type of flexible material that will keep the weather away from the engine and headers ? I am not interested in making this a OEM exact car; just make it better. Any ideas would be appreciated.

No ideas from anyone ? I would have thought someone would have done something cool with the inner fenders. Carbon fiber, kevlar, fiberglass maybe ?

We use White on white aluminum in the shop for our inner fender panles. That way you can paint it . You can run an upper aluminum angle support the your fenders and side panles can mount to also. Thay go from you fire wall to the core support. Also you can mount them in with Duze buttons so as to remove them . I was going to do this to my runner but the front end is to nice to cut up. Also on a side note. When you weld your tubing to the fire wall use a 2x2 plate so as to stretch out the support of you atatching aria.
