One thing that bugs me is seeing a beautifully restored car and the small chrome pieces are pitted or tarnished. I have a number of small parts that need to be re-chromed - sun visor brackets, door handles, window cranks, etc. - particularly the sun visor brackets. I know the door handles and cranks can be found but I can't seem to find the brackets and re-chroming them looks impossible given the way they're manufactured. If I'm wrong can someone please enlighten me or if available where can they be found? I can use the ones I have but prefer them to be like new - or new.
Thanks so much.

It's called "Patina" and adds to the originality of the car. Unless of course you are going for a 1000pt restoration. Wish I could help you out more so but give eBay a try or post up on the WTB Parts in the For Sale Forum. Good Luck...cr8crshr/Tuck

If the rest of the car is restored....it usually means the owner hit the money wall. B&L plating in Warren Mi. does lots of die-cast stuff. Fini-finish in Warren, also. Fixing pitted die-cast isn't cheap, and some repop stuff isn't so nice.

hi I used Cambridge Custom Chrome in Canada for 30+ years when I lived in NY. they are great at pot metal or die cast. the parts can be sent to a place in Buffalo NY so you don't have to cross the boarder they pick up and bring back to the U.S. they're on the web

Thanks so much. I've got some bumpers and tail light bezels that need work as well so it'll be a nice 5 hour drive along the Mohawk.
