I have a 69 Plymouth GTX; the old one is straight but the one I got from NAPA has a curve in it . Can anyone explain ?

I has to run in the same plane as the pitman arm
so is what you bought right or is the existing one right

Measure the distance from the center of the sector shaft to the center of the stud on the pitman arms if they measure the same distance then you should be fine with the replacement. The key is to have the distance the same between the to.

Thanks
James

I've tried explaining it to my wife like that too... some have a bend, some are straight, but they all get the job done...

wait.. are we talking about car parts?

Thats what happens when you poke the wrong hole; LMAO

I think if you was to examine the actual mounting and all it would be the same,i think i read an article about the new ones being stronger with a bend.
