Rear brake drums. Holes for wheel studs elongated ? why

The rear brake drum holes elongated. Can not figure out why.
1964 Dodge Polara 500. Has new rear end and 10" x 2.5" drums.

Sounds like the wheels were loose at one time. That will let the drum work back and forth, elongating the stud holes. Inspect the studs too for wear...

KK is absolutely correct modern cars are 90ft did not look up your vehicle

ONLY reason stud holes were elongated were from being loose at one time ---- dangerous situation ---- MUST be replaced at once......
Had them and N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ Brake Shoes -- @ Chryslers @ Carlisle in Carlisle, Pa., just completed....
