I'm working on changing out the rear shocks on my '67 Satellite and i'm having trouble with the top mounting nut. What do you guys use to hold that nut in place while losing the bolt? Just an deep offset 3/4 wrench?

I can't seem to hold the nut with a shallow offset wrench. If I have to buy a wrench I wanna make sure its going to work.

I just used the box end of an open/box wrench to do mine a couple weeks ago. Put the box end on the nut (or bolt), turn it slowly until the wrench hits the floorboard or whatever, keep the tension on it & turn the other end (bolt/nut). The easiest way is to use both hands. If you're absolutely stuck, just cut off the bolt with a "nut-cracker". There's nothing special about that nut/bolt (probably grade 8)

Had to buy this, now I am using them for everything..

I bought the Kobalt version of that Craftsman set, found it on clearance at my local Lowes earlier this year. Love em. A couple months ago I was trying to get my rear shocks off my 65 Coronet and I ended up having to cut them out. What a royal pita. They had been on the car for well over 20 years and the bolt and shock were rusted together. I was intending to buy stainless steal bolts to replace them but I believe grade 8 are the way to go.
