Rear Speaker Knob

I am replacing my glove box insert and noticed 3-4 wires from the rear speaker knob that aren't hooked up to anything however the rear speakers are working. Does anyone know how the wiring of this is supposed to be?

Sounds like someone put in an aftermarket radio and eliminated the fader switch

No it is the original, here is a picture. It looks original on the backside also. I'm guessing it was re-wired directly to the speakers and they didn't hook up the fader. I was hoping there was a drawing or something available that showed the correct wiring.
