Please answer for what is the widest tire I can get on my 65 coronet (stock)? I want to run smoothies on all four corners. I am guessing an 8 in rim is as wide as I can go but with what back spacing and what size tire you recommend?

Also... If I decide to mini tub it how big of a project is it, where can I get the stuff to do it and will it take away from the value of the car any?

I bet this has been answered before but all of the internet articles say a 275 wide tire is max with a stock set-up.

Take a wheel off use a strait edge on hub to help. measure from hub to wheel arch on quarter panel, subtract an inch. Than measure from wheel hub to farthest protruding spot on inside (leaf spring) and suptract an inch (this is your backspacing). Than measure from leaf spring to wheel opening lip on quarter. Subtract two inches theres your rim width. Hope this helps
