Well I got tired of saying I was going to do it and got tired of looking at that awful gap between bumper and fenders/hood. It pretty much took me the better part of yesterday to complete and I will have to pull it off to do a little tweaking here and there but nothing major.

Looks great in my opinion I'm gonna do that to all mine

That looks awesome, dude. Give up a little info on what you had to do to get her to go back.

Came out awesome! That looks killer, you just section the backets orr?

you enlarge the holes in the brackets, i have a small drill press so it worked out great, then I joined the holes with my angle grinder. You also have to modify the front of the frame rail or the bumper will not go all the way back but that's not a big deal.

Here's a picture of the front of the frame rail, I drilled out the spot welds, then peeled it back so I can see here I needed to cut it off, I will box it in later when I take the bumper back off to do my little tweaks.

Here is a picture of the bumper brakets, it shows where I drilled them out then took the angle grinder to join the holes.

Looks much better! Always thought that large gap was ugly as sin.

Good write up. Im planning on doing it on the rear bumber on my 74 rr, i no the brackets are different. Ill end up having to section mine, but the outcome will be the same, good info

I got rear brackets from a 72 Charger to do the same to my rear bumper, you may want to look at 71 or 72 RR rear brackets.

Oh, thank you :D

i did the same before the teardown for paint it looks so much cleaner like that! i did not have to do my frame though just the slotting

That really does look awesome! Makes a big difference on how it looks, Great work...

Thank you all.... Charger 360, I was told by someone else they had to do it so without trying to not mod the frame rail I decided it would be less work and give me a little more alignment room.

Totally Bitchin'. Tucks in there nicely. I have been looking at doing something simular for my '73 RR.

Are you going to shorten or replace your headlamp mount brackets,or leave as is?
