Removal of a 74 Sat dash top

Anyone got any tips for the removal of the dash top section,mine is totally fried so need to get a new one in soon.

easy job,no need to pull windshield.

drop the column,pop off the defroster vent cover
the screws on top holding the dash on are hidden behind it.
look on the bottom and you will see
the last 2 screws holding it on either side.
pull it away some when unscrewed and then you can disconnect the remaing stuff still attached
like the speedo cable,ect

You talking about the dash frame or the dash pad on the very top?

If you want to pull the entire dash frame, do this.

TIP: Do NOT pull the two screws out from the sides (behind the kick panels) instead, just losen them and use them to 'hold' up the frame and allow you to 'tilt' the frame forward while removing the components from the rear....it's how the factory does it. When it's free, pull the dash up off the screws....follow the same for install. Allows a single person to perform this job.

Thanks for the help guys, intentionally just gonna replace the dash pad but I think I may pull the lot and tidy it all up ,thanks again

IMO you really should take a few photo's as you are removing it. It will make things very smooth when you are putting the dash back in if there is an area where you unsure of.
