In order to take them off a 69 B-body ( front sway bar.) it looks like they have to be cut off...correct?

Usually you hack at them, stab them, grease them then eventually you get frustrated and set them on fire. They burn for a bit, smoke like hell, but you'll get them out that way.

Next, the real fun starts - installing the new ones.

Or.....you can cut the straps, bend them up some, remove/replace bushing and re-weld. There is a guy over on Moparts selling replacement straps for $44 in case you mangle yours up too badly.

Yours might be similar to the E Body captured bushings on their rear sway bars. We drilled the spot welds to remove them and then had another bracket made and re-spot welded them back into place. Did you notice an odd looking gray coating on the sway bar that is under the bushings? We found that all captured bushings used a protective coating to keep them from sticking to the bar. Can you take a photo of the ones you're working on? Here are a few photos showing the steps we took in restoring them. Thanks!

really nice job on the rear sway bar!, people always amaze me.
The factory front sway bar that I am working on looks painful to get them off, so looks like its best just to cut them off. I was going to put PST's bolt on ones back with the stock bar, only way I see to get new bushings onto the bar.
Thanks

Chrysler never serviced the bushing for the front sway bar. If the bushing were bad, it required replacement of the entire sway bar, per the service manual. The only good way I know of is the break the welds, insert new rubber and re-weld. I also recall a very informative thread that someone posted somewhere regarding this procedure. I'll have to look for it.
