Can any one tell me the difference between a repo 7 blade clutch fan and factory?
2863216 do the factory have 2863216 stamped on all the blades?
I see another stamp # on flat near the big hole at hub looks like 46237 with a small pentastar above it
I am hoping that this is a factory fan.
How bout it dadsbee you should know this one.
any help appreciated.

When did I become the fan blade expert.. LOL

46237 is the vendor ID #. Now whether it's OE or reproduction who knows. AMD stamps bumper support brackets with full part #'s, vendor ID's and the Pentastar. It's the slightly incorrect font that tells the tale....

Ok
Thank you dadsbee so you think a factory blade had all 7 blades stamped with 2863216 ?

I had two of the 216 fans that I sold. Both had the all 7 blades stamped

Ok
Thanks for the info:
Nice looking fan, hard to find nice originals.
Thanks to all that replied!

I thought I remember the P/N being stamped starting in the early 70's, before then, the P/N was applied with a white paint stamp on one blade. Or was that just the 2863215 fans?

Funny ,I just picked up a 2863215 from a '74 B van (just because it was there and in excellent cond. local pic n pay yard. $6) It is stamped on all blades. Just info.

I’ve had multiple 215 and 216 fans with the single white part number stamp. Most of the original fans I’ve had that included the original viscous clutch unit have had the single white part number stamp.

I looked through my stash, the 2 on the left with original paint are 215 fans. One with a painted part number and one with stamped part number. The upper right is a 216 without stamped blades, the lower right is a 215 without stamped blades.

Thanks okdart good info.
Not sure if I have a used repo or not but it sure looks like a original
Guess I will install it and hope for the best.
Thanks again everyone!

Word of warning ... We had very bad luck with repro GM fans breaking blades on our dirt track engines.

I would guess that the aftermarket Mopar fans are not much better.

Best to stick with OEM.

The fan on my '70 GTX RS23VOA****** as part of the A36 super track pack option had the individual blade stamped BUT blades are ALUMINUM and are an air foil shape.....curved on the leading edge and a slight reverse curve on the trailing edge and have a greater pitch angle (~ 30°) and look nothing like the one in the pix. The blades are riveted to the steel hub spider with an additional rivit/blade I believe the fan was standard on the race HEMI (with the x-ram magnesium manifold). I also use the HEMI water pump sheave # 2946716 to move more coolant thru the block, heads and radiator with a 180° high flow t-stat (at a higher velocity) and the # 2806070 torque drive clutch assembly to limit fan RPM @ 5000+ engine speed. Remember, VELOCITY AND HIGHER GPMs are the secret to heat exchanger efficiency. I also use the #2998956 max cool (bigger tubes and more fins/)inch radiator by GLEN-RAY. Just my opinion of course.....
