Why not just lift it up with an engine hoist, and put it on the transmission jack?
Maybe he doesn't have one?
How about getting another co worker over, and both putting it on the jack.
That video isn't a jacks fault at all.
Guy is full of bs.
Many times in my wrenching days i put heavy transmissions and transfer cases on jacks all by myself, using a engine hoist.
That guy is full of it, meaning s*#t.

I don't have an engine crane anymore....but do have a chain fall hanging from the rafters but imo, the guy has a point. That one is very tall. Seems most of the jacks on the market go down much further than that thing.....

He must have a hoist, otherwise why the hell would he want a device that lifts the transmission that high?

If you need a transmission jack that height then your car must be up on a lift, you should have been able to use that same lift to get the trans on the jack, then lift up the car.

if you try rolling a transmission jack up to an engine hoist you'll find the jack base usually crashes into the hoist legs.
and yes the price difference pushes many to the single stage jack...

1. Advance Auto apparently doesn't sell that jack.
2. OP doesn't own an engine hoist.
Duly noted...

But he has a lift. I would have strapped it onto one of the arms and let the lift do the work.
