I was going to buy new brake lines at some point for my 69 RR but all of the sites are asking if the right side line is over or under frame... maybe a very stupid question, but, how do I know?

My right side front line runs out of the master cylinder...across the firewall, over the frame through an inspection window, that looks like it was hacked into by the previous owner... is this the "over frame" they are talking about? does someone have a stock photo of the passenger side routing of the brake line?

Thanks

I am not sure how to post a picture, so I will try to send you a picture in a PM

Not meaning to sound rude..but...It's 2014, and you don't know how to post a picture!? Sorry...but I laughed out loud about that. It's strange how we take all this internet stuff for granted, and yet there really are those that genuinely do not know some of the basic things..

On the menu up there in the reply box:

Click the icon indicated..

This window will pop up:

CLick the 'From Computer' tab.

Click "SELECT", navigate to your image.

Upload it..

Hope that helps..

Jim was nice enough to send me this pic..

So I'm guessing this is considered "Under frame" as it routes under the frame from engine compartment to wheel well.

So then where does "Over Frame" route? How does it get through the inner fender well? Through the inspection window (I think that's the correct term for the little black covers)?

When I bought my lines, I do not remember even being asked that question. If you want a good line supplier, use fine lines tubing in Wadsworth, OH. I got mine from them and they fit great and their prices were competitive.

I don't think I've ever seen one go over frame myself but according to the google machine if it does it goes over the frame and through the splash guard

My 66 is over frame on the right and under frame on the left and the right side goes through the access door. The doors allow front end techs to access the rear A arm bolt.

mine goes under the frame both sides...

the hose is no longer fitted...I switched to some better ones...

Buy prebent lines from inline tube or fine lines...you can't beat the fit!
