I'm new to the forum and I could use some help, I just bought a 72 charger and have a set of 2010 challenger rims, the bolt pattern seems to be the same, but they won't mount up right because the spindle is too long on the charger, is there any way to make them fit? Someone told me to just pull the front end suspension off an new charger and then it would bolt up no problem, would that actually work? Any help is appreciated.

I made them fit on my 74 Satellite....Your's will be the same basic set up.....What stops them from fitting are the plastic tabs inside of the center of the wheel, just die grind them off and then remove the aluminum lip that the tabs held onto. After that you will just need to clean up the hub and make it perfectly round so the wheels will slide on.You will also have to buy longer 1/2 studs just for the front as well as a new set of lug nuts and 2 3/8 wheel spacers and you need to make a new custom dust/bearing cap.The rears fit with out a problem.

74sundace; you wouldnt happen to have any photos of the process would you? I need all the help I can get with that as the brakes are new to me as this is my first restoration project.

I didn't take any pic's at all lol, the only reason I have the pic's I posted for you is because my girlfriend took them....I need to break out the camera to help another member tomorrow so I'll get a few pic's for you as well.

Here in the first pic you can see the plastic tabs, just remove them and the aluminum lip that the snap onto.I had a machinist look mine over so don't worry it won't effect the integrity of the wheel.

Then just clean it up inside to make it nice and round and do the same to the rotor/bearing hub.

Now your wheel will fit on but your front studs will be to short because you will need to add a 3/8" wheel spacer because of the new wheels offset.
I still haven't made a custom center cap,so if you do before me send me some pic's lol

Oh if you want,a machinist can do this for you on a lath as long as the tire is off the wheel.
