Gone at 65. Cubs Hall of Famer Sandberg dies at age 65 R.I.P. Ryno!
Thanks a bunch, Mario!!!
Same with my Pops Ron. He always dreamed and wished for a Cubs WS in his lifetime, but sadly did not live to see it. Yet through his love for the team and passing that onto his sons, his three remaining 3 were able to experience that win and what a great win it was!!! cr8crshr/BillA class act. Gone too soon. Hope he’s able to have a chat up there with my mother. She was from Chicago north side moving to WI in 1950 when my dad was transferred here. For decades she dreamed of the Cubs winning the WS. She either watched or listened to every game she could, knew all about the players, stats, etc. season after next. Her WI vanity plate CUBEAR. Lol, I wanted to cover it when using her ride.
Go figure, she passed away in Dec 2015 and what did the Cubs do the very next season? Too odd.
That’s a great story! Yeah, watching the Cubs make the WS, constantly had my mother in mind, not sure whether to have joy or sorrow for her. Lol, family joking had us thinking maybe she had some ‘pull’ from above, as well your dad! IMO, who knows one way or the other? I sure don’t, but the thought of the possibility is nice...Same with my Pops Ron. He always dreamed and wished for a Cubs WS in his lifetime, but sadly did not live to see it.
